Take a breather from the Big Apple, and explore the countryside outside New York on a day trip to Philadelphia and Lancaster County, home of the Amish people. You'll drive through the serene Pennsylvania countryside, tour Philadelphia and its famous landmarks, and take a ride in an authentic Amish buggy.
Depart New York, and pass through New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia. Upon arrival, you'll embark on a panoramic tour that includes, Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Elfert Alley (The oldest inhabited street in America), and more. Arriving in the Historic area of Philadelphia, you will visit the famous Liberty Bell, one of the symbols of freedom in America, Constitution Square and Constitution Hall.
Departing Philadelphia you will see the famous Rocky Steps, and then continue to Lancaster County, home of the Amish people. After a break for lunch at the Amish marketplace, you will take an authentic Amish Buggy ride through Amish farm country, and learn how they live without the benefits of modern technology: no electricity, running water, telephone service, or appliances.
The day trip concludes in the late afternoon, and you will depart Pennsylvania heading eastward for an evening arrival in New York City.
